Shelby County for Sarah Palin?

Spotted this morning on Walnut Grove -- the first pure "PALIN" bumper sticker I've seen in Memphis. During and after the 2008 presidential election, there were several cars spotted with "PALIN" stickers, but upon closer inspection these were examples of people cutting off the "McCAIN" portion. The one you see here is exclusively Palin -- and note the American flag decal on the, um, Acura. Are those built in the U.S. now?

Anybody else out there seen "PALIN" stickers? And the question at this point, I think, is what statement is being made? It seems apparent that if the Republican presidential primary were held this November, Palin would be hard to beat, but perhaps these stickers are expressions of a certain worldview more than an endorsement of the half-term former Alaska governor as candidate?

So it’s un-American to buy a foreign made car? Capitalism is characterized by free market competition, where decisions are made by consumers based on price and quality. Many people take pride in purchasing goods that are “Made in the U.S.A”, but more Americans see union employees receiving bloated wages and absurd pension programs (that tax payers get stuck bailing out). Why should people pay bloated union salaries for products of equal or inferior quality? I’m sure many will simply refuse to buy from Government Motors; due to their dislike of President Obama and/or since the government stole the company from the legal debt holders and gave it to the labor union. Regardless, “Made in the U.S.A.” doesn’t mean what it used to.

Why are democrats so worried about what Sarah Palin is doing and who has her sticker on their car? She is not even an elected official.

Lets do a photo survey of all the Obama stickers on cars and see if all those drivers appreciate the higher taxes and ever-increasing largest-debt-in-American-history that we have gotten since he has taken office.

I'm not sure the reason for the prickly comments. I just found it interesting that months before the mid-term elections, I spotted a Palin sticker. Nothing to judge. Just observing. Completely nonpartisan. If anything, it points to how popular she is and how durable her appeal is proving. There are Obama stickers because, well, he ran a successful presidential campaign, one of the most impressive in U.S. political history. That seems pretty obvious. I'm sure President Obama's supporters would have their own explanation for what caused the debt, but I'll leave that to you partisans to debate.
