Bartholomew Sullivan, The Commercial Appeal's correspondent in D.C., sends along an update on details of Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton's congressional bid.
The Herenton for Congress campaign committee has named as its treasurer Ricky E. Wilkins, a lawyer who has known the mayor for 25 years and has done more than $2 million in legal work for the city, most recently auditing businesses on Beale Street. The custodian of the committee's records is William Watkins. The treasurer for many years for "The Committee to Re-Elect Dr. W.W. Herenton, Mayor" was Stephanie Dowell.
Under House ethics rules, Herenton is required to file a financial disclosure statement with the House clerk 30 days after he has raised $5,000. As of Wednesday, he had not filed a financial disclosure statement. Cohen filed his annual financial disclosure statement on May 15.

Of course he picked Wilkins. Who else is going to help him launder all the campaign money they are going to steal? Channel 3 called Wilkins out about all the money he has stolen from taxpayers over the last few years and he lied on camera about it. New campaign, same old Willie.

And since Herenton didn't support Barack Obama the candidate he has
no ties to every policy the president makes.Steve Cohen has not brought all the money he claims he has to the district.

Mayor Herenton will put physical changes needed in the district.Cohen tries too hard to be Black,and knows that is the only way he can throw rocks and hide his hand.
Think of all the millions that Herenton and Wilkins can steal up in Washington.

And Wilkins, lying through his teeth, said he has nothing to do with Willie as Mayor and the Mayor had nothing to do with him making the #2 Million from the city. he said this on Channel 5 news in the last 10 days.

I agree with Kevin. King Willie Mugabe is getting a bad rap. Just because Tater Head has stolen money from the great taxpayers of Shelby county doesn't make him a bad person.
