Memphis City Mayor Race /
Shelby County Mayor vacancy - Lord Help US !!!

Clearly, Republicans have lost hold of all that is right and good in the country and, seeing 'all politics is local' we have just about sunk to the bottom in county and city politics.

How so? When Republicans cannot come up with better (more moral and more conservative) candidates than Democrats, there is need for change.

Let's look at the City Mayor/ County Mayor situation: Scary reality is that when Commissioner Joyce Avery gained the Chairman seat of the County Commission, she actually is a possibility for interim county mayor. Hello, have we lost all our senses?

In the Commercial Appeal article reporting the Commission meeting voting results, Commissioner Avery herself pointed out that already some are questioning her leadership abilities. She herself made reference to the fact that she has overseen the MED and Medical Board for some time now. OK ... how nice of her to remind us that the MED is bankrupt and at the point of almost closing its doors.

Thank you Commissioner Avery for reminding us of your failure to properly oversee the MED which has a lack of funding as well as having been in danger on numerous occasions to not meet the federal mandated jcaho accreditation standards when inspected and again in danger of loosing federal funding.

Of course, when tracing Commissioner Avery's attendance records for County Commission meetings one can easily see that although she managed to show up for some of the meetings she always disappeared after a relative short while and that was not necessarily to oversee the MED. She did however manage to collect full pay for the meeting. Stayed just long enough to qualify, then left and not necessarily found at home after that. Rumor has it that Wharton and Avery are very tight.

That might explain why Commissioner Avery is on her 4th marriage. And often one can hear her brag that she was former Miss Arkansas, yet, her own family members are quick to inject that she was in the running for Miss State University of Arkansas. Makes a big difference.

Ok then, truth is:
Under her oversight, the MED went 'to the dogs'
She has a horrible attendance record (until just more recently)
She shows up just long enough to collect the money, then can't be found
Is on her 4th marriage
Lies about being Miss Arkansas
Her voting records also shows her favoring her votes towards developers and builders and throwing her constituants' interest of protecting their property values under the bus.

Oh yes, and be careful not to introduce her to any male folks unless you want to see a disgraceful display of an old woman throwing herself at any man she can. Word on the street: The the silicone implants were paid for. Yet, as someone recently stated: 70 is still 70.

So then, if that is the best Republicans have to put forth we have lost all morality and reason and need an even bigger change then we knew.

Truth is: Folks, we can do better than that !!!
