Edmund Ford Sr. will announce plans Monday

With Willie Herenton formally out of office, former City Councilman Edmund Ford Sr. is ready to make a decision about whether to run for Memphis Mayor.

"I'll let everyone know Monday," Ford said.

Ford, who was acquitted last year on bribery charges, told The Commercial Appeal on July 2 that he was considering a run.

Can we not rid ourselves of these people with shady pasts? Why would this cretin even attempt at a higher office? Oh, that's right, because Willie held it 17 years and Ford thinks deception, downright abhorrent behavior is the norm to be Mayor, so he's a shoo-in.

Bingo Janette!
